Dora the Explorer Party Invitations

Build anticipation for the event with our fun Dora the Explorer invitations. They’re postcard style with Dora on the front, and on the back there are spaces to write all of the party details, with a floral pattern on the background. They come with gorgeous turquoise envelopes, save the date stickers, and envelope seals. Sign, seal, and deliver these fun invitations  at least three weeks in advance, so your guests can get the birthday bash on their calendars.

Dora the Explorer Party Decoration Ideas

  •  Welcome your guests to the party with Dora’s Flower Adventure Balloons on your mailbox or door.
  • Make large floral stencils out of poster board and spray paint big blooms on your lawn, leading up to the front door. Also set out lots of handmade — or inexpensive — flower lawn ornaments for a playful touch.
  • Begin decorating the party space with solids featuring the main party colors, purple, pink, green, yellow, and orange. Drape streamers overhead, tie balloon bouquets on the backs of the chairs, and suspend paper lanterns from the ceiling.
  • Now add some Dora the Explorer party supplies! Hang the Dora’s Flower Adventure Jumbo Banner above a doorway or on a wall. On another wall, hang the Dora’s Flower Adventure Scene Setter. Overhead, hang the Dora’s Flower Adventure Swirl Decorations.
  • Cover each table with a bright tablecloth in one of the party colors. Because it’s a flower adventure, make a fun floral arrangement for the center of each table! Feature fun, bright blooms like gerbera daisies, spider mums, hydrangeas, and lilies. Sprinkle confetti from the Dora’s Flower Adventure Confetti Value Pack around the centerpieces.
  • A big part of Dora the Explorer is learning Spanish, so get some poster board and cut out bubble callouts and write some simple spanish words on them with the English translation beneath. For example:
    * Hola – Hello
    * Adios – Goodbye
    * Casa – House
    *Gracias – Thank you
    * Perro – Dog
    *Gato – Cat
    *Por favor – Please

 Dora the Explorer Party Foods

Give a nod to Dora’s Spanish heritage through the food! Here are some ideas:

  • For the main course, set up a taco bar! The kids will love putting together their own tacos, especially if you provide a bevy of topping options, including: Corn and flower tortillas, beef, chicken, pork, tofu, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, roasted corn, shredded cabbage, black beans, lime, onions, sauteed peppers and onions, queso, cilantro, guacamole, and more.
  • For sides, set around bowls of chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso.
  • To drink, make fresh watermelon juice and fresh lemonade. For a sugary sip, pick up some Mexican sodas. Jarritos come in lots of tasty flavors, such as guava, lime, watermelon, and mango, and can be found in most grocery store international aisles.
  • For dessert, birthday cake is a must! There is tons of Dora the Explorer cake inspiration online, and nickjr.com even has a tutorial on how to make a cake that looks like Dora’s face. For another easy idea that fits the theme, bake a simple cake, ice it purple, and use a pastry bag to pipe simple flower shapes on top of the cake. Be sure to top the cake with Dora’s Flower Adventure Mini Candles.
  • For another sweet, make a loaf of banana bread in honor of Boots. If you’re crafty, you could even ice Boots’ face on top.

Dora the Explorer Party Activities

Dora the Explorer is all about adventure, so keep the kiddos busy with these ideas:

  • As the guests arrive, keep everyone occupied with some coloring pages. Nickjr.com has free printable Dora the Explorer coloring pages that you can print off right before the party.
  • Equip the guests with all the equipment they need to go on a flower adventure! Our Dora’s Flower Adventure Deluxe Hat and Dora’s Flower Adventure Glasses are a great start. If you have a little sewing talent, you could make purple simple drawstring backpacks and add Backpack’s face with iron-on fabric. Fill the backpacks with Dora’s Flower Adventure Sports Bottles and Dora’s Flower Adventure Pencils.
  • Next, kick off the adventure with our Dora’s Flower Adventure Game. A spin off Pin the Tail on the Donkey, the object of this game is to pin Map onto Backpack. It comes with everything you need, including a poster, stickers, and a blindfold.
  • Get the kids moving with a fun scavenger hunt! Let the kids wind through the house and yard, going from clue to clue, completing tasks and challenges along the way — in true Dora style! At the end, reward the kiddos for completing the hunt with a fun surprise, such as our Dora the Explorer Adventure Bracelets or Dora’s Flower Adventure Rubber Bracelets.

With these ideas and a little creativity, you’ll throw a Dora the Explorer party the honoree and the party-goers will never forget!
