We love everything about this Little Mermaid sweets table, from the backdrop that reminds us of frothy sea foam to the milk glass serveware. But our favorite part has to be the candlestick holders that are holding a fork and spoon. Remember Ariel’s secret grotto where she collects human objects like silverware?
2. Water Bubble Ornaments via My Frugal Adventures
Clear Christmas bulb ornaments, glue, and aqua glitter are all you need to create these ornaments that look like sea bubbles. Hang them above the party space at varying lengths for a dreamy touch that matches our Little Mermaid Sparkle party theme perfectly.
3. Jelly Fish Lanterns via CupKate’s Event Design

4. Little Mermaid Tablescape via A Blissful Nest
Isn’t this tablescape fun? Big balloons with fringed ribbons look just like sea foam and sea plants with a little creativity. To make these balloons, blow up big balloons with helium, tie them with ribbons, and then tie sea foam green cloth strips on the balloon ribbons. Also, take note of the seahorse figurines and seashells on the tabletop.
5. Little Mermaid Cake via Cake Central
It’s amazing what you can create with fondant icing! To get this mermaid tail effect, all you need to do is use a small round cookie cutter on fondant icing and layer them to look like scales. We also love the idea of serving the cake on a bed of crushed graham crackers to look like sand.
6. Under the Sea Sushi via The House Family
For a fun and creative treat, make a platter of under the sea sushi! Mold Rice Krispie treat mixture into sushi roll shapes and use gummy fish and Fruit by the Foot as the “raw fish” and “nori.”
7. Octopus Dip via Appetizer for a Crazy Mind
Veggies are much more appealing to kiddos when presented in a fun way, like this red pepper octopus! To make it, cut a pepper in half and clean out the insides. Use one one half as the octopus head, complete with olive eyes, and cut the other half into octopus arms.
8. Sea Creature Petting Zoo via Hostess with the Mostess
For a super fun activity that is — dare we say — educational, reach out to your local zoo or aquarium to see if they will bring some sea creatures to the party for the kids to look at and touch. The kids will get a kick out of this, and they may learn something!
9. Sebastian’s Sand Search via Mom’s Tot School
For a fun, hands-on activity, fill a sandbox or a large bucket with sand and hide plastic ocean creatures in the sand. Challenge the kids to find as many of the creatures as they can with help from sand shovels. Make it a timed challenge and see who can find the most creatures to add a little competition to the activity.
